engageHoly Trinity can offer something unique to the city. Using Old Sunderland’s history, the site will provide immersive displays and a programme of inspiring cultural, heritage and learning events becoming a destination for local, regional and national audiences.

The project will:

  • Through music, theatre, spoken word and storytelling, offer cross generational activities that are open to all
  • Provide fun activities and learning and skills development opportunities to a community that is one of the most economically deprived areas in England
  • Include a major launch programme for the 300th anniversary. It will be an event for everyone celebrating Sunderland’s unique history and today’s unique Sunderland people

scrooge"Sunderland is rightly proud of its rich, cultural heritage and this fantastic community-led project will provide everyone with the opportunity to celebrate the contribution Holy Trinity made to our growth as a city. Working together we can create a new arts, heritage and cultural venue where people can not only learn more about our past, but also learn and develop new skills to look towards our future."

Cllr John Kelly, Sunderland City Council, Portfolio Holder for Public Health, Wellness and Culture
